Anti-Malware_toolkit Problems

In attempting to track a windows update problem I have encountered additional problems.
After downloading and installing the Anti-Malware_toolkit recommended programs, Some will not run to completion (SpybotS&D, Hijackthis among others)
Retry by clicking on icon results in the following error:
"Windows can not access specified device. You may not have appropriate permissions to access this item"

I ran the PC-Cleanup to the letter but no good results. I have run Dial-A_ Fix numerous times.
Any suggestions?

For those who are wondering why there have been no releases these past two months now, the reason is we are developing version 2.0 of the Anti-Malware Toolkit. Everything is being done from scratch. AMT version 1 will only receive bugfixes as they are reported until AMT 2 is released to the public.

We are looking forward to the release of version two, though it will still be some time before the public release.

AMT - Niffty Little App.

I really just stumbled across Lunarsoft and I'm still feeling my way around but I thought I would mention
that AMT is really a neat little app and I look forward to using the next release.

I may have a question or two regarding best practices with using AMT on a system that already has a
few of the applications installed but it can wait.
