Welcome to Lunarsoft Scouty! Thank you very much for the SUPERAntiSpyware defs, I had been looking for them. I'll add them in right now. I'll also look into ioBit SmartDefrag.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm always happy to see that my application is helping others. :jump:

thx for agree with my suggestion on defs and thx for your feedback.

Anyway to add latest Avira Personal (free) and defs to avira ?

AViRA FREE > http://dlce.antivir.com/down/windows/antiv...n_winu_en_h.exe

DEFS > http://dl.antivir.de/down/vdf/ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip

I think that Avira are better than other free AV.

Unfortunately I cannot add SymNRT because they only host it on an ftp link and not http. If there is a trusted, up to date non-session based http link for SymNRT I will look into using it.

I'll look into a link for AVPTool and see if anyone else would like it to be added.

Simple Suggestion

I use this tool all the time to download much of the software I carry on my usb stick. Would it be possible to have the download

1) check what the newest version of the software is

2) check to see if you have the newest version

and

3) only download what your folder does not have, replacing the old version with the new version

awesome idea.... +1

lets make A-MT be SMART =)

need to check hash to update or not ?

+1 to add

a-squared Emergency USB Stick files

Freeware! Contains a-squared Free and a-squared Commandline Scanner files. Unpack the zip to a USB Stick to make an easy to use scanning and removal tool.

This file is kept always up to date with the latest program and signature files. For Windows XP, 2003/2008 Server and Vista, limited functionality on x64 (25 MB)

Hello folks!... I'm new here...

Very, very good idea with this tool! Congrats to authors!

My sugestions at this moment:

1) Good ideea with Kaspersky free AVP Tool. You can try to download at any adress from http://downloads1.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool/ to http://downloads9....

2) Another tool, very very good and powerful for deep infections, is sUBs "ComboFix". Is updated almost weekly with latest threats. Can find some mirrors at www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Thanks.

Welcome to Lunarsoft Massor, and thank you for the feedback!

Currently we're looking into a way to add the Kaspersky AVP Tool.

Combofix is a program that is not going to be added due to past issues where it would completely wipe out the system32 directory.

Hmm.. strange...

How much "past" was the issues with ComboFix? I use it for last 6 months and it never fails me! Over 40 runs on aprox. 25-30 PCs, some very bad infected!. Every time resurects the system with minimum losses, when any other tools can't do nothing! Maybe the system32 folder was indeed deeply "poisoned" and was the only choice to "clean" it.

Can you give it another try (chance)?

Users of ComboFix! Please share your experience!

I haven't run ComboFix, but a search quickly found a couple cases of users who had severe problems after running it:

ComboFix might not have been to blame, but it does raise concern.

combo fix may delete useful files from others appz , damaging the system... take care with combofix , its only recommended when computer are very infected by malwares....

If avptool could run as "standalone app" (PORTABLE) would be very useful to us since its from Kaspersky.

;)

Yes - I tried AVP Tool and was very disappointed that it required installation, and had a process running all the time using memory (even though it has no real-time shield). I was hoping for something more like Dr. Web CureIT, which you just download and run (too bad the Dr. Web AV engine has a lower detection rate).

I totally agree with you on that. Plus I also believe that Dr. Web CureIT, has a nag screen not positive though.

Yeah, it does have a nag screen that tries to sell you the full AV. I don't consider that a major drawback, it stays closed after you close it.

It's not real low, like, say, Comodo AV or Clam, just not top-notch. AV-Comparatives included Dr. Web in their 2007 tests, and it didn't quite flunk...but not an app I'd rely on as a first line of defense.

CureIT has some nice features for a backup scanner, though; it has an Express scan that checks all the most important locations, and is pretty fast. It has a slider to adjust the priority it runs at, set it at low and it can run in the background without slowing your machine much. Both of these help make it easier to run scans more often, in between scans with your regular AV.

It would be excellent, if it was just a little more effective. A couple other downsides: Full scans are very slow, and its Quarantine is a joke (it just moves files into a folder in Docs and Settings, unencrypted. I wouldn't leave anything in there I thought was dangerous).

I started running it once in a while when I was still using AVG, since it did better against new viruses in the Retrospective/Proactive test at AV-Comparatives than AVG. Slightly better than Avast, even - though Avast has improved a touch this year. Don't know why Dr. Web isn't included in this year's tests.

First off, I wanna say thanks and congrats on a tool that FINALLY consolidates once a week downloads of multiple tools in a nice easy to use and friendly GUI.

Here are some things that I personally use that would be very helpful:

1) Combofix. I know this has been mentioned in the past, yes it has had some issues in the past. Newer versions create a system restore point plus backup the registry ;) I use this for 90% of all infected machines.

2) Smitfraudfix. Another excellent tool that removes annoying desktop hijack apps, including the famous Winantivirus 2008/9 and its variants.

3) Vundofix. A majority of those desktop hijacks use this Trojan and its variants.

4) Deckard System Scanner. An excellent system information tool, there was a big issue with it in the past which i believe has been corrected.

5) SIW. Portable system information tool, pretty much a beefed up version of device manager

6) AIMFix. Software by Jay Louden (http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm). Removes all known threats spread through AIM.

Hope this helps ;)

Hi there Malware fighters ,

Just looking through the Anti-Malware Toolkit, and the thread here suggesting which and what should be included in the package.

I'm a bit concerned at the tools, well moreso as to the fact that a novice can download this bundle and have no training, or supervision with them.

These are powerful tools built by experts to be used as far as I have seen at specialised Anti-Malware Forums which are dedicated to cleaning a 'Victims' infected computer.

I'm new here and just looking around after getting the lovely Happy New Year Email and was a little confused that such tools as combofix, HijackThis, plus heaps more are being suggested as a recommended download.

I must admit I borked at downloading the pack as I wasn't sure what it was, exactly . As far as I read it's a GUI operated conglomerate of complex diagnostic, active protection, and removal tools . An enormous undertaking ! As I said I didn't try it out so I have no real feedback, just a cautionary note for people unskilled in the Art of Malware cleaning.

When I have a little more time I'll look into it further, but as a trainee at a Malware Removal University I thought a word of caution be given to any novice was the least I could do to anyone who isn't 100% sure what they are doing regarding cleansing an infected computer.

Maybe I am off track, if so I am glad, but from the reading I have done just now this pack sounds like a time bomb .

The specialised cleaning tools are to be used in specific situations in series with checks all along the way by generating logs, and creating batch files to clean deeper when it is determined necessary .

As I said just browsing, curious, and concerned novices aren't destroying their Comps,

Cheers, and a Happy New Year :P

Hi hyenamoon,

Your concerns about users have already been addressed within the application. There are several links to guides that will help users in both the main GUI and the Help menus.

Guest sebastian

the two apps that I'd love to see included are ComboFix and a-squared portable. I know there's doubts about CF but I use it all the time and it would round out the AMT very nicely IMO. Like anything along the lines of malware removal, it is "use at your own discretion".
