Prevx are in deep trouble (and have now apologised to Microsoft) for suggesting that two recent Microsoft updates cause the Black Screen -- they don't -- but actually it's a string (REG_SZ) problem.

@ James_A: I know Prevx have lost face and have apologized to Microsoft but I decided to keep the solution in 'Cool Fixes' for the moment because it does seem to help in some cases. The problem isn't caused by Microsoft's programs or patches, that's certainly true, but it spuriously appears on computers.

Now more useful than ever to remove IOBit, since IOBit stole all Malwarebytes' definitions to use for themselves. Without the stolen Malwarebytes database, IOBit is a rubbish product.

Full story is over on the Malwarebytes forums, see: IOBit Theft Conclusion and the further links in the first post there.

@Fred, can you please recheck/fix the "Info" links for:
[01b] Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) > Info
[02] Adobe Flash Player > Info

Currently, these links point to CS3.

@ James_A: I checked the links of Adobe and fixed them.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
