While development of AMT 2 is very slow at this time as every bit is being coded from the ground up (a full recode). We'd like to hear what applications and categories people would like to see in AMT2. Apps in the current version can also be recommended, and some will automatically carry over. :)

ClamAV and ClamWin won't be added, due to their very poor detection rates, etc. based upon av-comparatives reviews.

I don't even see ClamAV included on the av-comparatives reviews. :(

It used to be reviewed by them long ago, I remember seeing it. I think they quit testing it because it scored so poorly every time but they did mention how they would retest it in the future if they fixed their issues.

MRT was in there, but seeing as it's downloaded with every Patch Tuesday it felt a bit redundant, so I removed it. I'm also very leery of Comodo apps after they issued SSL certificates to known malware distributing websites.

How about SpyShelter Personal Free? Though it's billed as an anti-keylogger, it's a behavior-based HIPS as well. I've been giving it a try, it's not bad - very light on resources.

Backups are also important, nice to have a disk image around in case of disaster. I like DriveImage XML, very easy to use. While that's not directly anti-malware, having good back-ups is a vital part of your anti-malware strategy, I would say.

...more thoughts, I also don't know exactly how far from malware and AV you want to get...

Belarc Advisor

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer

CrystalDiskInfo - nice portable disk monitoring tool, small footprint and SMART.

HWiNFO32 - if SIW is what I think it is, this is a nice alternative.

Revo Uninstaller - better than the standard remove but leave a little behind alternative.
