  1. As I learn more about this portal (it's totally new to me) I'll work on expanding things between my classwork. The news will have catagories and things of that nature, and I'm thinking I may narrow them down to a few catagories. Site related, Software, Hardware. I have a few reviews that I can post about software that I wrote a while back. My only dilemma is some terms that I'm so used to I may consider already in basic terms, but they're not. (I love having ADD ) I do need to take screenshots for the reviews I plan to post, but it's coming.
  2. JVM is a Java Virtual Machine. I tried the chat the other day and it didn't work. I'm going to try and get one set up though. Edit: Fixed it, channel is up and running.
  3. What sort of information and things of that nature are you looking for?
  4. igfxtray.exe is an Intel based graphics chipset. Google igfxtray.exe shows a lot of results. You can check ProcessLibrary (recommended) and LI-Utilities (also recommended) when checking any questionable *.exe or *.dll items. I never saw what was so great about Spyware Doctor either. A user doesn't need an overwhelming number of malware removal tools bogging down their system. That's as bad as having the malware itself. A few of the truly excellent ones (found in my Anti Malware Packages!) are all a user would really need. Best of all they are free. So why pay for shareware like Spyware Doctor, when MSAS, Spybot and Ad-Aware can do the job.
  5. Welcome! If you're reading this post you may very well be interested in being a part of the News or Reviewers team. This post will contain a general overview of what is being looked for. Age is no issue, but maturity needs to be expressed in the writing. Ideal candidates will write original articles for the frontpage. If you have any experience, tell us about it! If you have a sample of previous work, that's an asset as well. Proper English, spelling and grammar skills are a must. Spellchecking documents is fine (even recommended if you feel unsure)! Software will be a key focus of the frontpage news. Hardware is also welcome. I'm very flexible with this though. Places such as BetaNews are excellent for software news and more. For the News: Reference the website where the news is coming from. If you are posting something like software that can be downloaded, please refer to the template for the proper order. Beta software should have a red bolded warning at the bottom near the download link that Lunarsoft.net is not responsible for any damages to a user's computer. Optional: You can write your own story/spin on the story. At the end of your news topic you may also note your personal opinion, though keep it PG rated. For the Reviews: In depth reviews. A couple paragraphs work great, though try not to exceed four pages. Clear, crisp and small screenshots. Remember, dialup users will read these too. General understanding of software/hardware. Details about what stands out about what you review. If you like something, tell us why you like it and why you feel the user would also like it. Being neutral when you start reviewing a product. Do you have ideas/suggestions for a certain team that should be there? Let me know, I'll update the post. You can apply here or via a PM to me. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this! Tarun
  6. Anyone who knows me knows I feel extremely guilty just having to ask/talk about things such as this. So, in return I'm trying to see what people would like. Hopefully I've given some nice starting ideas in the above post. Updated just a little. Feel free to suggest ideas.
  7. Someone said yes? O.o And voted, on top of that! I wonder who all is voting?
  8. Shareaza is a peer-to-peer client for Windows that allows you to download any file-type found on several popular P2P networks. Shareaza is FREE & contains NO Spyware or third-party products. The 2.2 release comes with major updates/fixes/improvements for the program and the networks it supports. Changelog Downloads
  9. Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 is now available for download. This is the first Beta release of the next generation Firefox browser, to be released later this year, and it is being made available to the developer and testing community for compatibility testing and to solicit feedback. Note: This is not the final release of the Web browser, it has been made available for testing purposes only, with no end-user support. If that sounds scary, you'd probably be better off with the latest version of Firefox 1.0. Download: Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 (Windows)
  10. You are a man of many words.
  11. I actually just opened Word real fast. Should be the same globally for the Office Suite.
  12. Tools > Customize (You may need to click on those annoying double arrows) > under the Options tab apply a checkmark to "Always show full menus".
  13. Working on it. There. Should be fixed.
  14. Since these forums can offer subscription services I considered asking what people may like and for what prices. This is still in the brainstorming point, though. Basically, rewards and stuff for supporting/donating to the site. Things I've thought of were things like: Upgraded access to a new group. (Supporters) More attachment space. (5MB, might make it 10MB) Possible V.I.P. style forum. I'd like to hear ideas and such. I want to keep this site 100% free to all, but offer nice things to those who donate certain amounts. If you're wondering why I'm starting this about money; well... college did just start, so tuition and books, supplies and things of that nature sure don't come cheap. <_< Feel free to post people. Offer ideas and suggestions. Who knows, your idea may make it into the list! If you donate, please Private Message Me with your e-mail address (I may ask other information as verification) so that I can add you to the Subscribers Group.
  15. Do you know others who are interested in trying out Windows OneCare? We are now at the point where we would like to expand our group of beta testers. We encourage you to extend Windows OneCare beta invitations to your friends and family. Just have them go to http://beta.microsoft.com/, sign in with their Microsoft® Passport Network credentials, type in OneCare (case sensitive) when prompted for the guest ID, and follow the instructions from there. Basically do this: Go to http://beta.microsoft.com Enter the GuestID of OneCare Wait for an email.
  16. Welcome aboard! Just gotta say this is a great post. :D

    Car Alarm

Lol! Where do you get these?
  18. Well that is why I have them there. I want feedback. I did hide some of them. ;)
  19. I just added a bunch of those. I'm going to hide them from view until users need them. They're displayed to see what people think. So you're saying some should be hidden? If so which ones?
  20. Welcome aboard Gunner. Are you really going to Turkey? If so, what sort of job do you have that requires you to travel so much?
