  1. Honestly I don't know from experience if Macs suck or not. I've noticed that Windows users say that Macs suck, but all of the Mac users that I know absolutely love them. They never have problems, glitches, etc....So why aren't Macs good if they run so well?

  2. Note: Avast! and ZA don't go well together

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

They do on my computer.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Maybe, but Avast specifically gives a warning during installation that there is a conflict between the two.

  3. Its not really the fact that I hate it. It's just... I don't see a reason to use Firewalls. I use the Windows Xp Sp2 and the one in my Router. I have used ZoneAlarm in the past and I thought it was to buggy and it kept asking me to approve all these random connections and all.

Obviously you DO see the reason to use Firewalls since you're using 2...hardware and software.

The reason to use Firewalls is to keep malware from getting on your pc in the first place. It's your best line of defense.

ZA isn't buggy, it was asking you to approve connections so that you always knew/know what is connecting to your pc. Most good software firewalls require some sort of configuration, and approval from you AT FIRST.

    I'm don't ranting....for now.

  4. I use UltraISO, and yes, you can make an ISO from a CD and then burn the ISO.  You could have also used Nero to make an .NRG from a disc (using the Nero's Image Writer) or just straight copy disc to disc.

I love UltraISO now. It's really user friendly. Thanks.

  5. speaking of iso, i was just about to burn a ubuntu iso onto a disk to fool around with it on our old computer

    anyone ever done this?

Ubutu is awesome. I use it on one of my machies. Like I said before, I use CDBurner XP Pro3 (freeeware) to write my ISO files.

So could I use Norton Ghost for a straight copy disc to disc? Or is that just for hard drives. Thanks for the link.

  7. All of the configurations. Even when I told it to always and allow FF I couldn't connect. Now I remember experiencing this before. I will actually have to read instructions (which I don't like doing so much  )

  8. I'm currently on the v4 beta.  Seems a lot like the 3.5x series but has a few improvements.

I confess, I cannot recall the last time I ran a virus scanner on my system.

Now I remember why I stopped using Outpost. lmao

  9. Your Avast problem is caused by ZoneAlarm.

Avast told me that it isn't compatible with ZA at the beginning. You could blame that on either Avast or ZA. As for needing to give Avast internet permissions, that's how ZA works, and if I remember correctly, that is how Outpost works as well. It's been awhile since I've used Outpost, but I'll play with it again.

I used ZAP when it first came out, up until v3 (appx.).  I was on dialup too.  I heard about Outpost and switched and have never looked back.  Not once.  It made my web surfing a lot faster and did everything ZAP did and more, with more user controls and features.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sounds good to me! I'll try it, thanks.
