Hello all,
I am thinking about attending college part time to get certificate in microcomputers. basically, i will learn to understand a number of computer issues including html, c, web building, etc. It will take me about 3 years, but i think that the formal training along with my tinkering will be good for me.
I graduated from university in 2004 in another field, and it was very rewarding. This new class (like the old ones) will be part time evenings and is all i can handle with my work, kids, social justice work, etc.
I hope this is a good idea. I want to learn more about computers, and feel that the information is portable regardless which sector of the economy i look to for employment.
Just some personal thoughts, not really a question. Hope you are all well this evening. :hello:

thanks. i had thought about that whole windows vistas thing myself. if i wait for the bugs to work out, and the dual core processors to come down in price, maybe i can get something really groovy.
so you would keep the old machine for playing with? i was kind of undecided on that. but i find that i want to experiment with programs and stuff, but i need my pc up and running on a regular basis, so i dont like to mess around in a huge way.
this is my first computer (well, not really, i had a commodore vic 20 about 25 years ago) and i spent 2000 originally, plus about 500 since then on additions (but lots of that can come over to a new pc), so after 4 years already assuming i keep it one more year, it works out to about 40 bucks a month it has cost me for my system.
hell, i spend more than that on my cell phone each month, so i think that it was money well spent.

is there a free trial period to give it a whirl?

I wanted to ask a couple of questions.
Can I put links on this site? Not sure if its a violation or not. Not in my signature, just under the general topic.
Can I put this site link on other forums?
I like this forum, its seems very friendly, and I usually ask permission before putting a sites link on another place that I am visiting.

no one interested in giving me any advice? I have my eye on a few things, but am open to suggestions from those that know better......

Last month, my brother in law (real out doors kind of guy) brings me "deer hunting". Now he is all decked out in a full camo suit, spraying himself with a "anti human scent" spray, carrying a bow and arrows, blah blah blah.
Now here comes me. I have a dozen beef jerkeys in my back pocket, t shirt and jeans on, a 12 of beers under my arm, and, well, no weapon. I drink all the beer, am chatting it up, blah blah blah.
PETA would love me......... :hello:

I just want to say thanks to Tarun! I LOVE this anti virus, and its only been a little bit, but things seem a bit smoother, i love the look and feel of it, and unless disappointed by something within the next year, i plan to buy this program when my year trial expires.
Thanks DUDE!

yes, l2mfix. i actually moved it into a folder onto my external when i had windows reinstalled, and i wasnt sure what it was anymore as i put it in so long ago.

irfanview can resize pictures to make an avatar?
isnt it free?

so this is my new list:
Window washer
ccleaner
etrust
spybot
adaware
spyware doctor
spyware blaster
ie spyad
zone alarm firewall
1 click maintenance
windows registry repair pro
tune up utilities 2004
executive software diskkeeper
firefox with firetune
ewido
i figured since i already have spyware doctor, no need for msas-it would just be overkill with 4 anti spyware products already. also, windows washer is paid for, so why not keep it. it doesnt use much resources.
i may add cwshredder. other than that, i am thinking i am good.
