  1. WELCOME MP_handler, and no worries, these people here will take good care of you!  Believe me, I've asked some really silly questions but that's how we learn. :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No worries here brother. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Welcome! :hello:

  2. Hello all,

I am thinking about attending college part time to get certificate in microcomputers. basically, i will learn to understand a number of computer issues including html, c, web building, etc. It will take me about 3 years, but i think that the formal training along with my tinkering will be good for me.

I graduated from university in 2004 in another field, and it was very rewarding. This new class (like the old ones) will be part time evenings and is all i can handle with my work, kids, social justice work, etc.

I hope this is a good idea. I want to learn more about computers, and feel that the information is portable regardless which sector of the economy i look to for employment.

Just some personal thoughts, not really a question. Hope you are all well this evening. :hello:

  3. How am I looking brothers and sisters?

  4. thanks. i had thought about that whole windows vistas thing myself. if i wait for the bugs to work out, and the dual core processors to come down in price, maybe i can get something really groovy. punk.gif

so you would keep the old machine for playing with? i was kind of undecided on that. but i find that i want to experiment with programs and stuff, but i need my pc up and running on a regular basis, so i dont like to mess around in a huge way.

this is my first computer (well, not really, i had a commodore vic 20 about 25 years ago) and i spent 2000 originally, plus about 500 since then on additions (but lots of that can come over to a new pc), so after 4 years already assuming i keep it one more year, it works out to about 40 bucks a month it has cost me for my system.

hell, i spend more than that on my cell phone each month, so i think that it was money well spent. :hello:

  5. I wanted to ask a couple of questions.

Can I put links on this site? Not sure if its a violation or not. Not in my signature, just under the general topic.

Can I put this site link on other forums?

I like this forum, its seems very friendly, and I usually ask permission before putting a sites link on another place that I am visiting.

    :hello:

  6. Last month, my brother in law (real out doors kind of guy) brings me "deer hunting". Now he is all decked out in a full camo suit, spraying himself with a "anti human scent" spray, carrying a bow and arrows, blah blah blah.

Now here comes me. I have a dozen beef jerkeys in my back pocket, t shirt and jeans on, a 12 of beers under my arm, and, well, no weapon. I drink all the beer, am chatting it up, blah blah blah.

    PETA would love me......... :hello:

  7. I just want to say thanks to Tarun! I LOVE this anti virus, and its only been a little bit, but things seem a bit smoother, i love the look and feel of it, and unless disappointed by something within the next year, i plan to buy this program when my year trial expires.

    Thanks DUDE! punk.gif

  8. so this is my new list:

    Window washer

    ccleaner

    etrust

    spybot

    adaware

    spyware doctor

    spyware blaster

    ie spyad

    zone alarm firewall

    1 click maintenance

    windows registry repair pro

    tune up utilities 2004

    executive software diskkeeper

    firefox with firetune

    ewido

i figured since i already have spyware doctor, no need for msas-it would just be overkill with 4 anti spyware products already. also, windows washer is paid for, so why not keep it. it doesnt use much resources.

i may add cwshredder. other than that, i am thinking i am good. punk.gif
