  1. Hmm, wasn't aware of that, thanks for the tip Eldmannen. Cheers :hmm:
  2. G'day folks, I highly recommend this as a replacement for your normal Windoze Task Manager. As Tarun pointed out it is way more comprehensive than the normal task manager and is actually very easy to use and understand, even for a computer numpty like me.... As pointed out, it is very easy to identify ALL the processes (and services) that are currently running on your PC. I have used it effectively to identify services that start up on boot and have switched them off with no detriment to the running of my machine. I used to have over 50 processess and services kick in on boot and have now reduced it to 43 with no lose of functionality, and by doing this have saved on RAM usage as a whole (in effect about a 23% reduction). Cheers :D
  3. Eh? If I purchase said software and there is a benefit to registering (free support, free updates, etc) then sure as hell I'm going to register. Now this doesn't mean that I will register for *every* piece of software I buy, but the one's that I deem important. Having said that, with some of the registration requirements, I agree, they do ask for too much detail, but that's easily gotten around..... put in bogus information, the main part of any registration is putting in an accurate email address, and for that purpose I have three *main* email addresses, one of them running through my website, which is *heavily* filtered to keep out the dross. The main thing that I was shooting you down for was that once again, you're generalising. A good idea with any post is to smash it together in draft, read it, edit, re-read and then decide whether it actually needs to be posted. In this case once again you've made a post that had ABSOLUTELY no relevance to the topic thread, just seems like you're spouting crap to get your post count up, because it sure as hell doesn't display any level of intelligence. You have a nice day now. Cheers :hmm:
  4. G'day, you're looking well..... The reason I'm putting this out there, is that my system is approaching 5 years and I'm getting paranoid about hardware failure even though at this stage everythings humming along nicely. But it's been a LONG time since I re-installed Windoze. I used to do this regularly (every 12 months) to 'flush' out all the extraneous garbage that'd been loaded onto my system. I found by doing this that it greatly increased my start up and load times of programs. (The IT geeks here at work (Aust Defence Force) do this also and it does speed up your work applications - which is where I got the idea from to reformat/reload my OS regularly) And seeing I haven't done this for nigh on 3 years now I thought it time to 'refresh' my system, but I didn't want to have to reload absolutely everything else, I'm just wanting to 'refresh' windoze. Cheers :hmm:
  5. Now the main reason I resurrected this is for a question. By my reading, your saying that I would be able to repartition an existing hdd that already is data on it without crashing my whole system? Is this correct? The reason I ask is, I'm thinking about partitioning my hdd (if this is possible) so that I can remove/move all my 'non' program files (music, images, games, etc) away from my operating system so that in the event that Windows crashes I would only need to format the partition that it is located in. If this is as clear as black coffee, send me 'Oi' and I'll clear the waters somewhat (rummages for his 'Clearo Waterus Spell') Cheers :hmm:
  6. <<uses his Resurecto Old Threado Spell>> VOILA, thread is now alive again. Heheh, only reason I stumbled in here is to ask if anyone else can spell hypocrit another way?.... Give up?...... It's an easy one; E L D M A N N E N (pronounced: 'Hippo Krit') @ Eldmannen: Mate are you even on the same planet us the rest of us????... Read your last post "C A R E F U L L Y" Now let me quote from it Ermmm, this might be seem like a strange question, but how where you able to initially log into these forums?????............. GASP!!!! SHOCK!!!! HORROR!!!! You...... wait for it....... "R E G I S T E R E D" (I wrote that slowly so you could understand it......) __________________________________ If you're going to make a broadbrush generalisation, perhaps you might like to THINK before you spout stupid comments like that. I'm not disputing the remainder of your post, it's just the initial part that I found up to your normal level of stupidity. Mate, do us all a favour, write your replies/posts in Notepad first, read, edit, re-read, and THEN paste/copy and post it. __________________________________ Okay everyone, move along now, nothing else to see here..... Cheers :hmm:
  7. Greetings and welcome to the happy house of mayhem that is Lunarsoft, Duchess. Cheers :)
  8. Alrighty. Thanks muchly. Was just wondering because of this entry O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4C7B6DE1-99A4-4CF1-8B44-68889900E1D0} - (disabled by BHODemon) was wondering if it's part of SpyBot, as in something that SpyBot changed? Cheers :D
  9. Yeah, I noticed that one too, and dropped it over at www.liutilities.com. Yep, nasty little bugger, got it cleaned up though. Here's the lastest HJT. 11. Here are six reasons why you should think before you speak :- Have you ever spoken and wished that you could Immediately take the words back... Or that you could crawl into a hole? Here are the Testimonials of a few people who did.... __________ FIRST TESTIMONY: I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and asked loudly, "How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?" I turned around and walked back out and never went back. My husband didn't say a word... He knew better. __________ SECOND TESTIMONY: I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I was unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me. Without thinking, I looked at him and said, "I think I like playing with men's balls" __________ THIRD TESTIMONY: My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold a variety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help. I replied, "No, I'm just looking at your nuts." My sister started to laugh hysterically. The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away. To this day, my sister has never let me forget. __________ FOURTH TESTIMONY: While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to release some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of her after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I told her that if she did not start behaving "right now" she would be punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening; "If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!" The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stopped what they were doing. I mustered up the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow. The last thing I heard when the door closed behind me, were screams of laughter. __________ FIFTH TESTIMONY: Have you ever! Asked your child a question too many times? My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch, in between errands, it was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old daughter, she was clean. I then realized that Danny had not asked to go potty in a while. I asked him if he needed to go and he said "No". I kept thinking; "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clothes with me." Then I said; "Danny, are you SURE you didn't have an accident?" "No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse. Soooooo, I asked one more time, "Danny did you have an accident? This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over, spread his cheeks and yelled "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!" While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down.. An old couple made me feel better though, thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had! __________ LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY: This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any! We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked; "So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, But half the crew did too they were laughing so hard! __________ Cheers
  12. The man told his doctor that he wasn't able to do all the things around the house that he used to do. When the examination was complete, he said, "Now, Doc, I can take it. Tell me in plain English what is wrong with me." "Well, in plain English," the doctor replied, "you're just lazy." "OK," said the man. "Now give me the medical term so I can tell my wife." **If anyone ever gets the medical term please PM immediately!** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A soldier was asked to report to the headquarters sergeant for an assignment. The sergeant said, “We have a critical shortage of typists. I'll give you a little test. Type this,” he ordered, giving him a pamphlet to copy and a sheet of paper, and pointing to a desk across the room that held a typewriter and an adding machine. The man, quite reluctant to become a clerk typist, made a point of typing very slowly, and saw to it that his work contained as many errors as possible. The sergeant gave the typed copy only a brief glance. “That's fine,”" he said. “Report for work at 8 tomorrow.” “But aren't you going to check the test?” the prospective clerk asked. The sergeant grinned. “You passed the test,” he replied, “when you sat down at the typewriter instead of at the adding machine.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old Aunt Cora went to her doctor to see what could be done about her troublesome constipation. "It's terrible," she said to the doctor. "I haven't moved my bowels in more than a week." "I see. Have you done anything about it?" asked the doctor. "Oh, yes," Aunt Cora replied, "I sit in the bathroom for a good half of an hour in the morning and then again at night." "No," the doctor said, "I mean do you take anything?" "Of course I do." she answered, "I take a magazine!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A grandmother overheard her 5-year-old granddaughter playing "wedding." The wedding vows went like this: "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may be held against you, you have the right to have an attorney present. You may kiss the bride." **Now why does this sound vaguely familiar??????.....** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a member of the organization that installs computer systems aboard Navy ships, I am mindful of how important the off-ship e-mail capabilities are to sailor morale, especially when some vessels are deployed for up to six months. One day while shopping at the base commissary, I noticed another crucial aspect of my job. I was behind a frazzled mother with two active children, and as I watched, she stalked over to where her young son had perched himself on the rail of the freezer case. "If you don't get off there right now," she commanded, "I'm going to e-mail your father!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady, was looking very nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves. Do you know how they make these gloves?" he asked. "No, I don't" she replied. Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in China with a big tank of latex. Workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size." She didn't crack a smile. "Oh well, I tried," he thought. But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the dental procedure, she burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" he asked. "I was just picturing how condoms are made!" she said. Ya gotta watch those little old ladies! Their minds are always working! _______________________________________________ Cheers :hello:
  13. Follow the link to find out which Simpson you are. Which Simpson Are You? I turned out to be DR Hibbert...... go figure. Cheers :hello:
  14. Sorry it's a bit late, but Happy Birthday anyways, hope you had a good one and got all the presents you wanted. Cheers :hello:
  15. Well. There you go, learn something new again . No idea where the heck this came from so I can't even say that I remember getting a virus/worm/trojan that this relates to. Item now duly removed. Hmmm, okay, read the articles that you linked to and will trial leaving RamCleaner off and see if there is any noticeable difference. What I failed to mention in my last post is that once RamCleaner has finished 'optimising' I turn it off, I only use it for the initial boot/restart, because as stated it releases approx 200 - 300 Mb. Will see what transpires. Cheers :D
  16. Thanks again, however I need to possibly burst your bubble on one of them. Might be a red not a blue: SharedTaskScheduler autorun Registry key O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: flammei - {9d635a36-6b3c-4146-8625-f3aaf507bbf8} - (no file) (You'll notice the CLSID is exactly as per CastleCops) and here's why: -> Castle Cops Is this accurate or not? ______________________________ Heh, yes your correct about RamCleaner, it does use resources, but nearer the minimal scale if left running and can near on stop your system once it 'runs' a clean up. The reason I've got it set to run on boot is that after everything's loaded it 'releases' approx 200 - 300Mb from initial boot. Without it, once every thing's loaded, I have 500-600Mb load out of 1Gb, with RamCleaner running only at boot (I close it once every thing's finished) it takes my system down to 300 - 350Mb load. Cheers :hello:
  17. Thanks boss. So, there is absolutely nothing in there I can 'turn' off? Reason I'm asking is that it's taking near on 5 minutes for my system to start up, one reason why I leave it on 24/7 and only reboot if absolutely necessary. And was also wondering as there seem to be a hell of a lot of services running which I want to try an cull if possible. Cheers :hello:
  18. For several years, a man was having an affair with an Italian woman. One night, she confided in him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he paid her a large sum of money so she would go to Italy to secretly have the child. If she stayed in Italy to raise the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18. She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby was born. To keep it discrete, he told her to simply mail him a post card, and write "Spaghetti" on the back. He would then arrange for the child support payments to begin. One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife."Honey," she said, "you received a very strange post card today." "Oh, just give it to me and I'll explain it later," he said. The wife did and watched as her husband read the card, turned white and fainted. On the card was written:.......... "Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti. Three with meatballs, two without, Send extra sauce"
