  1. I'm in the same boat..looking for compatable software for my Vista laptop. I just recently downloaded a free 6 month Premium trail from AntiVir and so far I like the program. But, I have only had it for 2 days now so I don't have any real pro's or con's yet. Ahh..only real pro's I have is I was confidently able to shut off Windows Defender in the mean time while I test and try out AntiVir. I have also downloaded the lastest versions of SpyBot S&D and Ad-Aware without any problems. Only thing left really is a reliable firewall and as soon as Comodo releases their version for Vista I'll be all over it. All other misc. software that I have downloaded has not giving me any compatabilty problems that I know of ...yet. Avira AntiVir home page free 6 month trial AntiVir Premium
  2. hmmm... i know that i had suggested a few way back then but which one? perhaps maybe McAfee's SiteAdvisor is the one you are looking for EDIT: um, I'm sure thats not what you are looking for, after actually reading your post i think maybe this is it dnsstuff or maybe GRC Shields up as mentioned by Capman. i need to get my old laptop running again so that i can get all of my security and other related links onto my new machine

  4. i thought it was becouse you kept begging Tarun to the point where he felt like he had too
  5. funny thing is..whenever i hear AOL mentioned i think of ads, banners, popups, and what not. now if they can provide an actual anti-spyware product with out any of that crap i would be very surprised. essentialy thats their main source of revenue, adware and the like.
  6. thats what i have is the WRT54G. i had kinda a issue while i initialy set it up but that was on the ISP side and not the actual router itself. i also recently revamp the wireless security settings making it WAP2 PSK or whatever it is and i also disabled the SSID broadcast. and on a side note; i'm getting ready to post this sign on the street becouse there are a few networks that are open on my street and sometimes people will be setting in there cars at night stealing someones connection.
  7. i have a simple Linksys router and quite honestly the only reason why i bought it becouse it was on sale. now of course i'm wishing that i bought something a little more robust all the way around but oh well, so far i havn't had any problems with it.
  8. lol, if you put that way then i guess so
  9. thats why i leave it on 24/7. much easier that way
  10. lol, i always got the Id10t code untill i started to pay attention to what i was doing
  11. i thought you would've gotten over the whole "you have a pertty mouth" thing but apparently not if you missed me that much
  12. did you just say "thats sweet" to me? whats next, a hug from you?
  13. i used to Dr. Who with my grandfather and whenever we did my grandma would get all bent out of shape becouse she hated the show and would stomp off to the backroom to watch whatever she wanted to watch. goodtimes, goodtimes back in the day.
  14. ha, unless you are like me and using Thunderbird as a email client and have your own Lunarsoft folder. On a side note; the Thunderbird spam controls work really well in Thunderbird
  15. lol, i feel a cow phase coming on so mooooo've over and let me by
  16. Thats one way to toughing ya up...Semper Fi!!
  17. hmm, after reading those links i think it's best if i leave the firmware as is. maybe i'll get lucky and come across an older version.
  18. Unfortunatly since my router is a much newer, a full version of the software isn't available for it.
