Sorry about that last one, your captcha is very confusing.

Anyways, a large corporation that specialises in remote computer repair uses these programs:

*TOP PROGRAM* http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

*TOP PROGRAM* http://sdfix.net/

www.pcdecrapifier.com

http://software.techrepublic.com.com/abstr...px?docid=318144 (Autoruns)

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninsta...ller-Tool.shtml (Eset's AV Uninstaller)

http://gmer.net/index.php

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/...0080828154508EN (norton removal tool)

http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

ieregfix.bat (fixes older IE versions)

Mcafee Personal Firewall Cleanup Tool

Mcafee Removal Tool

Mcafee VirusScan Cleanup Tool

http://www.atribune.org/index.php?option=c...5&Itemid=25 (ATF Cleaner)

http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=137630 (MGTools)

I think you should include these programs (and the rest of the AV uninstallers)

I also found this link online with a lot of good utilities:

http://computersecurityassociates.com/utilities/index.php

And the Microsoft Product Key Updater Tool is an absolute necessity. It will not only change your product key to another one you provide, it can change between different versions of windows (i.e. from Pro VLK to Home OEM, Home Retail to Pro VLK, etc.) so for those friends who have foolishly installed an illegal copy of Windows when they have a legit product key on their machine, you can use that key to get them back into a legitimate version of Windows.

Also, any chance of being able to add our own programs in the future? I've got some from my employer (prevent windows from sleep or logging out until you finish work, kill unneeded processes, automatically reboot into safe mode with networking) that are copyrighted and such but I would still like to use.

Hi Brent, sorry that the CAPTCHA was giving you some problems. It was recently implemented to prevent spammers.

I'll go over your list and place my comments about them. :jump:

Combofix: This is actually omitted due to it's past issues where it has completely trashed the Windows\system32 directory. There have been at least two occurances of this, one of which involved a rootkit. I believe Malwarebytes Anti-Malware also handles everything Combofix does and is done in a much safer manner.

SDFix: I've been hearing good things about this and will look into adding it to the program.

PCDecrapifier: While this is an awesome program, if a user does not know what they're doing they may very well uninstall something they wanted to keep without realizing it. That's the key reason I've omitted it from the list.

Autoruns: Already listed in the program.

GMER: I believe parts of the GMER technology is inside of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

StartupCPL: You can actually get all of these features from within Autoruns.

IERegFix: Dial-a-fix contains a majority of these fixes already, including an option to reinstall Internet Explorer.

ATFCleaner: CCleaner already handles everything that this program does from what I've ever seen.

MGTools: appears to be a downloader with a few fixes included. I'll look into it before making a decision.

Anti-Virus Cleanups: I've been looking into collecting and adding these into the toolkit. They will appear before the end of the year. I am unable to add SymNRT since it's on FTP. I have contacted them about this and they replied to my email with the file attached, basically ignoring my query completely.

I will be adding the Microsoft Genuine Advantage check tool and the product key updaters before the end of the month.
