When you noticed this?

Has it always been like this?

Maybe has something todo with boot order in the BIOS?

You recently changed or moved any hardware?

I opened event viewer under computer management, but i am lost as to what i am looking for...?

Thanks

Anything related to hard disks, disk drives, SATA, IDE, etc.

Hi,

I just noticed in the BIOS that boot from CD/DVD is selected! is this right or wrong...

If wrong what should it be the hard drive?

If i select hard drive will this solve the no hard drive detected error on start up and get rid of the message boot from Cd/DVD?

Thanks

Hi rridgely

I downloaded and installed the program you suggested and ran when i look in the health tab, it tells me health status OK.

Although

B8 (unknown Attribute) Current 100 : Worst 100 : Threshold 99 : Data 0 0 Is highlighted yellow the rest is not..

I also ran the quick error scan and there was no errors.

Thanks in advance.

Having it set to boot from CD/DVD is fine, that shouldn't cause the error you're getting. You should get a message that boot from CD/DVD failed, booting from the hard drive (when there's not a bootable CD or DVD in the drive). Getting the message the other way around, like you are, is truly screwy.

Seems to me that it couldn't hurt to try changing the boot order to boot from the hard drive - the only drawback would be that if you want to boot from a CD or DVD in the future, you'll have to change it back.

The hard drive manufacturer is Samsung.

I have heard good things of Samsung.

They have been on the market as long as other companies such as Western Digital and Seagate, etc.

But I have a two Samsung hard disks in my computer.

I heard they're known for making silent drives...
