Well thanks, it was meant to be, and just plugging along like nothing gonna stop me I was 23 years old when it happened. My daughter drinks now, just totalled my car. She faired better than I, but *shaking head* ya think SHE of all people would know better.

7 to 3:25, is that the actual school hours?

My kids do 8:10 to 2:40.

I was caught, arrested, fined and banned from driving for a year. I guess I was lucky to get caught because it taught me a lesson and I have never done it since.

Maybe the long hours the kids do there is the downfall, they are probably tiring themselves out too much, especially if they all start at 7am, that is ridiculous.

My daughter has to mark her own homework in class, which I feel is wrong, because then they are losing valuble learning time, it should be the teachers duty to mark homework.

i get called to the highschools every once in a while to search for drugs, its amazing how disrespecfull some of the kids are. seems like the faculty as little control over the students, probably afraid of being sued by someones parents. last year we did a demo at a high school and got boo'ed at when we came up on stage by some of the students.

A lot of kids have no respect for the law in England nowadays, which does seem to be a world wide problem due to the softly softly approach that has to be taken by everybody in society nowadays.

A return to the days of a clip round the ear from the law would not go amiss in my opinion.

i'm sorry to hear that. everyone makes mistakes but unlike some, you learned from it

theres someone who i have arrested twice in the past twice for d.u.i. obviously who did'nt learn from their mistakes. the third time while i was trying to pull this person over for being d.u.i. they took off and a short chase began. the person took a turn wide and struck a car then bounced up over a curb and ran an elderly person over. another patrol and i attempted cpr but the elderly person died. after that experience i have no tolerance for drunk drivers. in the past if they were border line i would have them call and have someone come and pick them up rather then arresting them. incidently, i did the same for the person i mentioned above the very first time i stoppped them.

Even back in the OLDEN days LOL I just turned 51 ya'll on Dec 1st

But back then, I don't remember much of classes, I had to do homework and that's when I learned the most. Other wise we would mainly fall asleep because of bordom and worry about getting to the next class in less than 10 minutes. Alot of kids just drop out. Especially now.

I had a step son MP, was on a lot of medication and I was the only parent around for him, but every day he would get into trouble at school and they wouldn't even take him to the Pricipals or put him in time out. So, as soon as he got home he went straight to his time out chair. I kept telling the teachers and pricipal that if they don't do something at school, then he does what ever he wants because they allow it. And when he messed up one time at school then he knew he would be in trouble at home anyway, so he quit trying. It was a vicious cycle.

I think alot of problems now a days is that there are women working out of the home, and the kids have no one to come home to, they are left to do what they want to. And there are no Father's that stick around anymore. Life has become a fantasy. People don't try and thus disrespectful kids. The World just gets scarier and scarier all the time.

WELL I'VE BEEN SOBER NOW FOR 20 YEARS!!!! I HAD MY ACCIDENT 27 YEARS AGO!

Ok, too me a few years, but I thought the more I drank that sooner or later I'd be able to drink like everyone else. Then I finally went to AA and that's where I finally got sober. :P

As a youth I spent a lot of time in the principles office, in minor trouble with police, etc. I think some of us go a bit crazy in our teen years, and some clear their heads and move on, and some stay that way forever.

I can say that i drank a lot as a teen (sometimes enjoy a few still ), used a lot of drugs, got in fights, got kicked out of school, etc. , but eventually I matured and started to grow as a person and became responsible.

I never drank and drove though. I dont know why, it was always just a taboo thing that was out of my boundaries.

And I wouldnt change my experiences, because i am happy with who i am, so these experiences helped shape me.

I do have a lot of respect for Texasfillys drive to excel after having experienced a disability. My youngest brother has some medical problems that prevent him from working, but he has managed to make amazing strides in areas of interest to him.

there are so many varibles and factors as to why kids are the way they are now these days. but i think a lot has to do with family values. there is none. i deal with juveniles on a daily basis and more times then none when i come in contact with the parents they just dont care. they ofton will ignore the problem or try and turn it around on me saying i'm harrasing their kids. when i first met my girlfriend her daughter was living with her real dad who did not have any parenting skills and didnt care to to have them. becouse of this she was undiscleplined and spoiled. pretty much neglected, and she was only 2 years old when i first met them. at the time the father had full custody as giving by the courts. i helped my girlfriend when back custody of her daughter. let me tell you, it was a lot of work to turn her around. now she's sweet and adorable.

I chatted with the policeman from the back of the police car all the way to the station, and when we got to the station they let me sit at the main desk instead of putting me in a cell because I was so polite and friendly.

They even advised me to wait and have a blood test done because by time a doctor had got there to do the test I would have been under the limit again, but being young and stupid to a certain extent I just wanted to get out of there.

Looking back with hindsight I would have waited for the blood test.

being cool and polite to a police officer will go along way, trust me on this. since im k9 my main job is drug interdiction so i'm always doing traffic stops. i'll pull someone over for the smallest thing. if you have a cool attitude and my dog does not respond then i'll say have a nice night. but if you have attitude, expect a ticket. i had a major bust from a traffic stop once. pulled someone over just becouse the did not come to a complete stop ata a stop sign. my partner responded on 500lbs of heroine still in its base form, and found boxes full of childporn. i was glad i made that stop.

My brother is 51 and we get on as if we are the same age, 51 ain't that old.

My wife and I are both at work when the kids come home, but we have brought our kids up to respect others and to respect the discipline that we have given them.

I can now treat my kids as my mates rather than my kids, which makes life so much easier, and if they want to talk to someone when they get home from school they know they can phone me at work.

I admire the cops in the US for the way that they give someone the chance to get out of a car peacefully when pulled over, but will draw their gun and pull them from the car if need be.

This is something the cops in the UK need to learn from.

i keep everyone in the car for my safety when i do a stop. if i have to bring them out for any reason they will be put in cuffs 99.9% of the time. you never no what will happen. we have a major drug traffic route that starts up from mexico and goes all the up to canada. when i do traffic on this route i will waite for backup before i make contact with the driver. a few months ago i was shot at during a stop on this route, not fun at all. but on the good side, i got a new patrol vehicle out of the incident. so, if you see a white chevy tahoe with dark tinted windows its probably my partner and i.

you know that you are making a difference on the drug route when you learn that the mexican drug cartel has a bounty over your head for you and your partner. although i was a little jealous that my partner is worth more then i do

Well having a "problem" is not a problem unless you make it so. I know that when I was young, a single mom and had my kids with me, I felt alot of times I had to be SUPERWOMAN because other people looked at me like I was "less than" and I felt I had to prove something. I'm glad tho that it worked that way, I was never afraid of anything and my kids grew up with a lot of respect for people who were less fortunate than them.

I agree about getting into trouble, and no values, BUT.....my kids did alot of things that I had no control over, and the PD wouldn't take things in their own hands either. I begged them to arrest my son at one point and time. (he was under age and I wanted to make an impression) And he use to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night when he was 13 years old. I spent more time in his bed than he did, waiting for him to jump back thru the window. But the police wouldn't let me hand cuff him to his bed. I finally put in a security system and the 2 kids couldn't even leave their room to go to the bathroom without it going off.

I brought my kids up in the church and took them places that alot of kids never dreamed of being able to go. They wore nice clothes and I guess I prolly spoiled them too much. BUT, they are both GREAT adults right now, and working in good places. My son went back to College and my daughter will go back this spring. I'm proud of them, but man, thought they were gonna have to put me in an asylum at one point. LOL
