Great job CaPMan! This is pretty much what i meant on the thread i posted asking for this kind of list! I like the one stop shop at lunarsoft, so we dont have to look all over the place for things.

Another suggestion to make this portion of the site even better. Maybe someone qualified could provide a brief desription of what each type of software can be used for, and roughly how it works?

Just a suggest. Awesome addition to the site! :P

One or two of the links are incorrect e.g. decrypter. Capman knows, but because of the problem with his home computer, it may be just a little while before he get them all 100%.

may i suggest that you add in to the AIM links the triton version? its off of beta now. All you do is install the adhack installation and adhack installs aim for you without the adds.

Link - http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack/

Also - I say we put a Recomend by Winamp. I only use the lite version of it, but i could write up a pro/con of each type of winamp if you want.

I've heard about that before. Mostly on the Winamp forums so my ideas on it might be biased :eyeroll: But honestly, i dont really have memory issues now that ive learned about like startup junk and extra processes and stuff. And also, all my audio files are aac or mp3 anyways. So im sticking with winamp, ive used it since around early version 2. Im connected with it at the hip :shocking:

Track IP Addresses

to find information on a certain website such as if they have been on a blacklist or the name of the site owner. you can also track where a certain email originated from. both links are easy to use

http://www.dnsstuff.com/

You can get a lot of information about an IP address here, too:

http://www.whois.sc/

Just put in the IP address or URL where it says Name Spinner.

Also i think 'freeware list' should be added to the Lunarsoft menu.

How about a category for apps to password-protect and/or encrypt files? Not sure what to call it, File Protection, maybe? There's a thread on CCleaner forums about the subject, mentioned a lot of programs that I'd never heard of. I have no clue how they compare. When somebody asked for something like this a while back, I came up with this one: Win-Guard Pro 2005 http://www.windowsguard.com/products.html

It looked good to me, but whether it is any good I have no basis to judge. Anybody here know much about this type of program?

Thanks Ryan, Have now added the ones that were not already listed.

The list is lookin' good, but I think a few of the entries still need explanatory notes to make it clear what they do.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Explanatory notes will follow slowly but surely.

Of course anyone can post some in here for me to put in place. :)

Done, except for EULAlyzer, due to the fact that it could possibly mislead people into thinking something is safe to install when it is not or vice versa.

There can be no real substitute than actually reading the EULA when installing a program, unless you truely know it has come from a well known trusted source.

Ok, here's an explanatory note for Win-Guard Pro 2005 (from studying the web site, I believe these features are all found in the free version. Haven't gotten around to trying it out, though):

Allows you to password-protect your programs, windows and web pages, also can encrypt your personal files and folders. With extra features to lock the desktop, boot keys, task keys, block software installations and internet access.
