So I'm trying to install both a digital camera and a scanner to my printer and it will recognize the new hardware but before it completes the install it says "Windows could not load the installer for Image..."

Short of reinstalling Windows XP, is there anything I can do? I had a similar problem with my CD Rom drive and ended up going to the registry and doing some stuff in there...could that sort of thing fix this too?
