It's hard to believe that Lunarsoft has been around for over 20 years now. While the appearance of Lunarsoft has changed, the goals have remained over the years. Tech support, without the stress or worry of having to search the Internet. Quality support from people you can trust. This, along with a strict policy of no advertisements. Ensuring that each page could load quickly whether on dial-up or a mobile device. When Lunarsoft first started, it was a smaller website with an all-in-one solution that had a frontpage, knowledgebase, and forum. This is also where the Anti-Malware Toolkit originated. At first it was a simple html document for a guide and several different zipped files containing the recommended software to clean a PC. All right there in a simple package so people wouldn't have to stress searching all over the Internet and risking further infections. As Lunarsoft continued to grow and expand, the site continued to improve to what you see today. The software running on the website has changed since the beginning. For a bit, the frontpage was Joomla, and the forums were a free version of Invision Power. Later the frontpage was migrated over to WordPress, and the free version of the forums turned into the paid version, for those who remember it. Now, there are individual subdomains for the main frontpage, the forums, and the wiki. The Anti-Malware Toolkit is still being maintained, and development of the third version is just beginning. To all of those who visit the website, be it guests or members; thank you for being a part of this community. Feel free to make an account, post some messages, ask for help, or simply chat in general. Regards, Tarun

lunarsoft Lunarsoft has completed the change to a new frontpage
Tarun posted a topic in Announcements
First I’d like to say welcome to the all new frontpage on Lunarsoft! I think you’ll find that this frontpage software will work a lot better. This has been in development behind the scenes for some time now. It seems like it’s been years since I made the change to the previous software. While it feels that way, it’s actually been almost nine years. Multiple days have gone into finding the right look, making the proper optimizations, and making sure things load fast! Because who wants to wait for a page to load? I sure don’t. You may notice the load times have improved even though the page is a bit larger. The page will load faster and make fewer requests. The frontpage is live now and the same content that you viewed before will still be available, too! I’ll still be working behind the scenes to optimize things more. You shouldn’t feel alarmed if you see the page looking broken. If you encounter any issues please let me know. Providing a screenshot, link, and your browser information will help a lot. Just hop onto the forums and make a post. A new frontpage means more work is coming You read that right. I’ll be working more on getting everything optimized as best I can. The downloads are back though I don’t think they’re as great as they were before. As a result of the change I have not added the other downloads back. I will look into doing this in the future. I will say that because of this change I will have a lot more work to do here on Lunarsoft. Most of it will be involving getting new images and checking over the old content. Due to this my responses may be delayed. I sincerely hope that everyone truly enjoys the new frontpage software here on Lunarsoft!- 1 reply

There have been several updates all throughout Lunarsoft over the past month. From the Frontpage, to the Forums, the Wiki, and even the server itself. This resolves several issues and helps ensure we can give quality content while keeping the site free from advertisements and secure for both members and guests alike. The following changes are: Frontpage Software updated to the latest version. All extensions and the language pack are up-to-date. Security plugin to prevent brute force attempts is in use. Frontpage rendering has been optimized and compressed. Frontpage works with Mobile devices. Theme is undergoing polish and optimizations. Forums Forums are running the latest version, including important security fixes. ReCAPTCHA NoCaptcha is in use for registrations. An .htaccess file is in use that I have put together is on the IPS Marketplace. It allows faster page loads and better scores on GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed, and YSlow. The Facebook Like Box has been removed due to no longer being updated by the developer. Forums work well with Mobile devices. Wiki Wiki updated to the latest version which is a Long-Term Support version. Using ReCaptcha NoCaptcha because Asirra was discontinued on October 6, 2014. Bad Behavior plugin is no longer in use due to problems caused writing to the database. Wiki rendering has been optimized and compressed. Working on adding more articles and updating content more, join us and help out! Server-wide Main server software has been updated. Software used such as PHP and MySQL have been updated. MySQL databases have been optimized. Old, unused tables have been removed. An optimized .htaccess is used on each subdomain to allow all pages to render faster. This means content is better cached and served efficiently. Working on further updates to allow a SSL certificate to allow secure logins and browsing all throughout Lunarsoft. If you'd like to see this, please donate to help in getting the site-wide SSL certificates! Thank you to all who have donated to Lunarsoft! A recent update has come out for the StopForumSpam hook that is used here. It allows for better control and handling of potential spammers. This includes allowing potential false positives or those who are linked to an IP that at one time was spam to still register. There will be a few tests done with this new update to find what works optimally. As always, if you see a spam post or even a potential spam post please report it. Don't reply to the spammer or comment on how the automated spam bot has bumped a thread, etc.

Lunarsoft does not support SOPA or PIPA. These bills should never have come into existence. We urge you to contact your representatives and let them know there is nothing good about SOPA/PIPA, it hurts everyone. If you want to learn more about these bills, you can read their respective Wikipedia articles on SOPA and PIPA. https://www.google.c...ing/takeaction/ http://sopastrike.com/modal/strike-modal/index.html
