a1mikael
After having problems both downloading new software and Windows updates, I was recommended to download Dial-a-fix. I have selected both Fix Windows Installer and Windows Update. It has currently been running for approx. 30 minutes, and it says:"Stopping MSIServer" On average, how long time is required to fix problems like these? Brgds. Administrator Tarun Posted June 22, 2007 Administrator Share Posted June 22, 2007 Generally it takes under five minutes for Dial-a-fix to run it's full course. You may wish to post a logfile from DAF, or hit the green checkmark and click Go.
DjLizard
It is apparent that the MSIServer is not responding. A future version of Dial-a-fix will have a timer that avoids this problem. I'm sorry about that! At any rate, if you restart the computer fresh and try it again it may be able to unregister it. If not, I'll tell you how to manually unregister/re-register it so that it will stop hanging. (Dial-a-fix is hanging because Windows is hanging on it.)
