For the most part, Dial-a-fix tells you what it does in the tooltips of the check boxes.

I'm a big fan of Open Source, but can understand how someone might have many different reasons for keeping their source closed. Some people like to maintain 100% control while others are just shy about another programmer criticizing their code. I'm sure there are many other reasons. But as long as it is free, we only have so much room to complain :D
