Windows Installer Error

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Some time ago I had probs with my Norton regarding the Windows Installer.

I didn't really know what it was so i left it as it is.

Today I tried to install the new Call of Duty and it gave me the following error :

"Error 1719 . Windows Installer could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that it is proparly registered and enabled"

Plz help me guys :jump:

Regards ,

Dan.

Have you run Dial-a-fix to repair Windows Installer? Another thing you can do is upgrade your Windows Installer to version 4.5 which can be downloaded here.

When I run the Dial-A-Fix I choose in the MSI headline :

"Fix Windows Installer"

and the rest squers under it.

Now when I run it , it gives me this error :

"msiexec.exe is not a vaild Win32 application"

And when I run the downloaded 4.5 version it says almost the same :

"update.exe is not a vaild Win32 application".

Can you please produce a log from Dial-a-fix?

It sounds like your download for Windows Installer 4.5 was incomplete/corrupt.

The Log is :

Notes about this log:

1) "->" denotes an external command being executed, and "-> (number)" indicates

the return code from the previous command

2) Not all external command return codes are accurate, or useful

3) Sometimes commands return 0 (no error) even when they fail or crash

4) If an error occurs while registering an object, please send an email to:

dial-a-fix@DjLizard.net and include a copy of this log

That is your standard log for starting Dial-a-fix. Run the Windows Installer section and then post a log.

Also, did you download WindowsServer2003-KB942288-v4-x64.exe?

Thanx bro I fixed it.

What I did was to pass the msiexec from my brother's computer to mine.

Then I ran the Dial-A-Fix and it fixed the issue.

Thanx for your help mate :jump:
