WinXP update not working

Featured Replies

I have Windows XP SP2. The BITS will not start. Tried reinstalling using DAF 0.60.0.24. Also tried the fix windows update. Nothing is working. Going directly to the Windows Update sight fails as well. It will check for updates then when it trys to download them it fails on all files.

Windows Update Log

Thanks for the program and support.

In "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Services", what does it say when you attempt to start BITS?

Also, check "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Event Viewer".

Open Dial-a-fix and click the green checkmark, then click Go. If you receive any errors from Dial-a-fix please post the log here.

Error 2. The file specified cannot be found

You're going to need to be more specific than that. Can you post a Dial-a-fix log or at least some context to that error message?
