Windows XP won't update

Featured Replies

Hi from detroit, Michigan,

I'm George new to this forum but not new to computer problems. I have a Gateway laptop running windows XP SP1 that won't auto update. I tried installing SP2 but it failed halfway thru the install. My system has a Mobile AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 512 MB Ram, and Radeon 1GP 320M. There also a program called Big Fix running that has alot of security updates that I'm sure if I should install.

Thanks for the help,

George

Hi George and welcome to the forums. If the error occurs again, please post the exact error message you receive.

Have you tried Dial-a-fix yet? If not, click the green checkmark and click Go.

Thanks I will give Dial-a-fix a try.

I'm having the same problem.

I did download Dial-a-fix and it ran many times, but the Windows Update does not work still.

Any ideas?
