i have run dial-a-fix and rec'd error about this file wuaueng.dll

The next dialog (as mentioned in that error message) is the one we need to see - which contains the reason for the error. We also would like you to post the Dial-a-fix log after the processing is complete (click the piece of paper button in the bottom right).

In the meantime, restart the computer, click "Flush SoftwareDistribution" in Dial-a-fix, answer "No", and then try registering Windows Update again.
