They're discontinuing AVG Anti Spyware and AVG Anti Rootkit... If you want them you have to get AVG 8 Internet Security.

AVG Free 8.0 includes anti-spyware as well as anti-virus protection, making AVG Free Anti-Spyware redundant. They really seem to emphasize the limitations of the free version, probably why the descriptions of its features are a little vague.

I've gotten AVG 8.0 installed, and I can confirm that it does have real-time anti-spyware protection. This is functionality you used to have to pay to get, so I don't think too many will be upset. It's a big download, though, 45.5 MB. Scans take longer, too.
