neclordsword Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Hi, it's me again. Had some troubles recently: long story short, I had to perform a system recovery to get my computer working nominally again. So it seems time to make another HijackThis log. I'd go over my old one but I figured it'd be safer just to get advice on my current log. Administrator Tarun Posted May 12, 2008 Administrator Posted May 12, 2008 Hi neclordsword, what sort of issues are you having with your pc? Your log looks clean though you should update several components. Update your Java to the latest version. You can use JavaRa to make this an easy process. Update your IE to version 7, many security fixes are included with will also help Windows become more secure. Update to SP3 for XP. It includes all the hotfixes you can get from Windows Update, plus those that were not publicly released.
neclordsword Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Hi Tarun, Problems started the other night after I found and deleted a few Trojans using Avast AntiVirus. Clicking seemed to be a problem, merely mousing over programs in the Start menu would open them; right clicking icons on the desktop would open them; opening either Firefox or IE would cause errors, constantly opening new browser windows. Running antivirus and anti-spyware again turned up nothing, and Scandisk didn't help either. After performing a System Restore everything seems back to normal, thankfully.
Administrator Tarun Posted May 18, 2008 Administrator Posted May 18, 2008 Glad to hear everything's fixed, neclordsword.
