Roland67 - log 01

Recommended Posts

This log comes from a colleagues pc. He believes that his OE has been hijacked. He is not much on maintenance. When I ran Ccleaner, it removed over a gig of garbage. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.

Your log is clean, though I do have a few recommendations for you.

Uninstall all toolbars.

Uninstall AVG and switch to avast.

You may want to run StartUpLite to make your computer load faster.

Be sure you have all of your updates, including IE8 and the latest .NET Framework.

are you certain that OE is not hijacked?

Do I need IE8 if I only use Firefox as browser?

I want to move this user to a laptop, but I need to be certain that I do not import anything bad from the old to the new.

OK, thanks very much for your help Tarun

From the log posted there are no signs of malware present.

Yes, you do need IE8 as it contains updates to IECore and many other critical files that Windows Explorer relies on.
