Posted September 16, 200519 yr Why does Lunarsoft display differently on different computers? Image 1 The frontpage when viewed at home, looks OK. Image 2 The frontpage when viewed at work, looks OK. Image 3 The forum when viewed at home, looks OK. Image 4 The forum when viewed at work, looks bad.
September 16, 200519 yr Administrator You're using IE at work. It cannot properly handle .png images. The frontpage has a gif, but the forums have a png.
September 16, 200519 yr Author Thanks Tarun, i knew there would be a reason for it, just couldn't work out what. I really need to ditch IE and OE for FF and TB, but I work with a bunch of luddite type people. Maybe I will leave IE and OE on the main computer but change the other one over to FF and TB, and see if that helps persuade them.
September 17, 200519 yr IE can handle normal PNG fine, but not alpha transparent PNG. That banner is not alpha transparent. Your issue might be that you need to set your color depth to 32-bit instead of 16-bit. edit> I gave Tarun a 24-bit PNG, if that helps it make sense

September 17, 200519 yr Author Just checked the computers at work and they are 32-bit, I guess it must be some other issue. I suppose it don't really matter that much, most people probably don't even notice it, and it is the contents of the site that is most important anyway.
