greenknight Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Just a quick note (I have the flu, can barely focus) to say Mozilla has finally set a target date for a Win x64 release - the end of March, 2015. Read about it here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2876519 Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted October 7, 2014 Administrator Posted October 7, 2014 WHAT! It's FINALLY official?! It's about time! Quote
greenknight Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 WHAT! It's FINALLY official?! It's about time! Thought you'd be pleased. They sound serious, and they say most of the work's already done - so maybe it's really going to happen. As you say, it's about time. Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted October 8, 2014 Administrator Posted October 8, 2014 Hope you feel better soon by the way. Yes, it's very overdue with how things are, 64 bit being common ground and all. I hope their optimizations that go in further improve the performance of things and for plugins and addons as well. Quote
greenknight Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Gradually getting better - thanks. If Mozilla had been listening to their user base a bit more, we would have had this long ago. People who keep a lot of tabs open find they're running up against the memory limits of x86 all the time. I think there's a lot more of those folks than they realize. Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted October 26, 2014 Administrator Posted October 26, 2014 I'm still so very psyched for this. I can't wait to see it happen because that means the nightly builds will be improving even more. Quote
