Wrath Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 My firewall's antispyware updated, scanned for the hell of it, and it found only a registry key of an mIRC trojan... I'm wondering if this may pose a threat, or if it was just the remains of something that once was? Haven't even noticed any different processes running on my computer lately, everything is the same. Administrator Tarun Posted August 1, 2006 Administrator Posted August 1, 2006 What firewall returned this result? Did any other anti-spyware application (Windows Defender, Ad-Aware, Spybot, ewido, etc...) return any similar results? Quote
Wrath Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 Zone Alarm returned the result, it didn't say specifically what it was, I did scan with Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy and got no results. I deleted it when I scanned with Zone Alarm though which I probably shouldn't have, could have quarantined. There's no way I know of to really retrieve what it was, but it was something like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/.chaf. Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted August 2, 2006 Administrator Posted August 2, 2006 I personally have had issues with ZoneAlarm. I don't trust it as it's way too resource heavy. The result you got was a false positive, so don't worry about it. :P Quote
