Any suggestions to a simple, freeware antivirus? I need a simple version that wont slow down my computer much. Something that doesnt expire if it exists. And a link would help me too. Thanking you all in advance!

I find e-Trust to be better than the others, though a few users report problems with e-Trust.

i decided to go with avg and will see where that leads me. Thanks for the advice. ;)

hmm...so many positive comment on ez-Trust...i think i will use the 1 year trial just to shut the security center up...

You can also disable the Security Center's alerts and stop it from loading.

I've had no major problems with AVG myself, what was so horrible?

It kept giving me serious false positives (YOU'VE GOT NIMDA!!!111 wait what, I don't even have IIS), it takes much more resources than the other AVs I was used to, it almost never actually deleted viruses (just showed me where they are and said sorry, can't do it, hey, why not buy AVG full?) and is quite ugly looking (I care too much about interfaces, and AVG has an old school (in a bad way) interface that reminds me of Windows 3.1). I'm seriously jaded about software, so it only takes me about 5 minutes to hate a piece of software if I get a bad first impression.
