I have an motherboard with a VIA KT133 chipset.

Today, on Windows Update, I saw there was an optional update device driver titled "VIA - Storage - Primary IDE Channel" in the Hardware section.

I checked the checkbox, and clicked on the "Install Updates" button.

Then it asked me to restart the computer, and when I did, Windows wouldn't boot up, because it would halt by an blue screen.

Safe mode didn't work either. But it got fixed by choosing "Use the last good configuration" entry from the menu.

Sort of on topic, but sort of off topic.

This weeks updates killed IE7 on our XP computer in work.

For some reason I don't feel too compelled to rectify the problem at the moment. :happybday:

this week on Windows Update, it told me in the hardware section that there was an update available for my Laser Mouse(Laser Mouse drivers). I don't have a laser mouse :happybday: . I installed the drivers and restarted and windows is working fine...
