Posted November 2, 200519 yr This is what I am currently using to combat virus, spyware, keep things smooth, etc. Window washer avg free spybot adaware spyware doctor spyware blaster spyware guard ie spyad zone alarm firewall 1 click maintenance windows registry repair pro tune up utilities 2004 executive software diskkeeper i also run trendmicros online antivirus periodically. anything here that you think i dont need, and/or anything that i should add?
November 3, 200519 yr Author Its all paid for. But why the registry cleaners? On the other thread you addressed the ccleaner vs. window washer item, and since I paid for spyware doctor, i will keep it. Now, i will dump the avg. i will try the etrust for a year. if i dont like it, i can always go back, and if it is as good as you say, i can buy the paid version. And about the spyware guard. I see it promoted on a lot of sites. Do you have a reasoning behind dumping it? Its just that there are so many conflicting opinions I like to know the reasons for them. as for the ewido, is that a trial version? should i buy the full version, or is the trial (after the full period expires) still pretty good? thanks! oh, does etrust not do what ewido does? thanks. ;)
November 3, 200519 yr Author and the registry cleaners? do you not use any, or do you just not like these ones? ;)
November 3, 200519 yr G'day Lordoftheweb, I'll think you'll find that most people (and I'd say most of the folks on this forum) use CCleaner as a registry cleaner. If you're not aware, you can find it here CCleaner Cheers ;)
November 3, 200519 yr Author ccleaner has been added. etrust has been added. spyware guard is gone. ewido has been added. ;)
November 3, 200519 yr Author so this is my new list: Window washer ccleaner etrust spybot adaware spyware doctor spyware blaster ie spyad zone alarm firewall 1 click maintenance windows registry repair pro tune up utilities 2004 executive software diskkeeper firefox with firetune ewido i figured since i already have spyware doctor, no need for msas-it would just be overkill with 4 anti spyware products already. also, windows washer is paid for, so why not keep it. it doesnt use much resources. i may add cwshredder. other than that, i am thinking i am good.
November 3, 200519 yr Ermm, just a quick question here. Doens't CCleaner have an inbuilt registry cleaner function? Or have I been deceiving myself about its functionality? Cheers ;)
