JOE
This great forum helped me totally solve my problem on my computer - that I thought I could get some input on our other computer. We just loaded IE7 from IE6. It then said we need to load some updates. There were - I think 5 The first 3 ran fine and the last 2 did not. several times after restarting it asked to reload IE7 I did nad then again it wanted the updates. Again the 3 ran fine - 2 will not load Not sure where to start on this one I am not sure if there is a way to safely remove IE7 and start again??? Or even if that is the right approach Thanks
Administrator Tarun Posted September 26, 2007 Administrator Share Posted September 26, 2007 What are the update names and KB numbers? Have you attempted Dial-a-fix yet? If not, click the Flush SoftwareDistribution button and click No. Next, click the green checkmark and click go.
Eldmannen
It is good that you update to IE7 from IE6, because IE7 is better than IE6. It should be possible to uninstall IE7 from the Control Panel. I would also recommend to use Dial-a-fix, it is known to be able to fix many problems. Personally, I use Mozilla Firefox though, which I prefer over Internet Explorer, but I still think that it is important that you get your Internet Explorer fixed, so you can visit the Windows Update website. Administrator Tarun Posted September 27, 2007 Administrator Share Posted September 27, 2007 Yes, download it from Windows Update. You will need to check for updates several times though throughout the process.

JOE
Hi: Not sure what is happening - just yet. I thought the procedure was going OK then I am having trouble with some programs - so I am trying to unload them and having trouble there in ADD/REMOVE I see them there but they will not remove. Then I try to load some and they will not load I am trying to get a handle on what is happening. Joe

Administrator Tarun Posted September 30, 2007 Administrator Share Posted September 30, 2007 Some applications require the .NET Framework, but if you get them reinstalled it'll work fine. You may want to use the Flush SoftwareDistribution button and click No, then run Windows Update again.

Hi: and thanks I did what you said and I also got a software program to "completely uninstall a program" What I need to do is install - actually reinstall - but it is out now - "the Print Shop" It will not install. When I try to install the upgrades - I keep getting the enclosed message. Thanks for your help - any other things to try???
