Ultimate Predator Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Order of Operations - doesn't say update in normal mode before going to safe mode. Some of the software listed I hardly see Tarun recommend anymore, he list being; CWShredder, AboutBuster, RogueRemover Free, Windows Defender and Ad-Aware SE Personal. Personally, not even sure we need 2 seperate pages. And the lsit above shouldn't be becessary IMO, been using this list for a long time and haven't needed much else. Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted January 20, 2008 Administrator Posted January 20, 2008 I'll make a note in the wiki to update when the applications are installed. As for the list of tools, they're all effective tools that are pretty much needed to ensure you get all the infections removed. Quote
Ultimate Predator Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Oh, ok, no worries, they're just not essential for every user? Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted January 20, 2008 Administrator Posted January 20, 2008 I see some of them as if you're infected, run it once or twice till you get a clean bill of health. RogueRemover is lightweight and fast when it comes to scanning. It does a bangup job. Their Anti-Malware program looks really good and may even do better than Ad-Aware. Quote
Ultimate Predator Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 I see, some are only needed if you're in trouble. Quote
