Furthermore, it features a powerful framework for supporting custom extensions. AbiWord v2.6.3 is the latest stable release, which compared to v2.6.2 contains several bugfixes and resolves three potential security vunerabilities. This release includes the following changes (and more!): Re-enable the equation editor on Windows systems. Don't crash when saving to a device with no space left. Prevent quite a few hard to trigger crashes from happening. Inform the user when the connection is lost while collaborating on a document over the TCP transport. The full changelog can be found here. Note for Windows 95, 98 and ME users: AbiWord 2.6 is currently not available for your operating system. Please continue using AbiWord 2.4.6 instead. Note for distributors: This release includes three security fixes. The specific patches can be found in our subversion code repository under revision 23557, 23660 and 23662. Make sure your document contains none of those nasty spelling errors by using AbiWord's built-in spelling checker. Dictionaries exist for over 30 languages. Extensible Plugin Architecture The main AbiWord program is very small and requires very little resources to run. This allows AbiWord to be used on systems that are not considered "State of the Art" anymore, which comes all too quickly in the IT world. Our plugin system was designed to give AbiWord all the functionality you might expect from a modern Word Processor.
