It's difficult to keep up with the Notepad++ updates.

There were three for last month (November) alone -- 5.8.3, 5.8.4 & 5.8.5.

Though, that doesn't stop Don Ho's Notepad++ from being one of the best editors available.

I use it for very mild Python programming (I'm a noob) and a little XHTML and CSS - really nice free app. The bin.7z version is simple to install and update.

When I used Windows, I used to use Notepad++. For stuff like HTML, PHP, etc.

Sometime if I am ever on Windows, then I use Notepad++.

It is nice that it has line numbers and syntax highlighting.

Maybe its a bit feature-creep some would say.

On Linux these days, I just use gedit.
