Administrator Tarun Posted June 21, 2011 Administrator Posted June 21, 2011 I decided to give this a try to help make writing/composing articles a bit faster and easier. It worked quite well for what I needed but it will take a bit of getting used to as well. This is also in Vista. Has anyone ever tried to use this? I'm really surprised how well it works with a lot of software. I can only think of a few pieces of software that I've encountered where it doesn't work, such as Firefox, Pidgin and Steam. Aside from that, it's a lot of fun to use. Even in mIRC. I was really surprised that it worked just fine (from what I could tell) in Thunderbird 5.0 Beta 1. If you want to give it a try, Control Panel > Speech Recognition. Obviously you need a microphone to use this.

Eldmannen Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Too early in the morning (not enough coffee) to figure the "... let's set so double ..." part out. . It's a reference to a humorous mishap during a Windows speech demonstration. I hope that Microsoft puts a lot of research into speech recognition and text-to-speech.
