Firefox (referred to as Fx) is an open source browser developed by Mozilla. The second most popular browser worldwide, Firefox features a customizable user interface that allows you to enhance it using custom themes and Personas. Personas change the appearance of the user interface without rearranging the elements. Themes however, can completely change the UI ranging from the types of buttons to the color sceme used. Add-ons allow you to customize Firefox to your liking to make a more enjoyable web surfing experience. Some examples of popular add-ons that you can use to customize Firefox are AdBlock Plus, DownThemAll!, TabMixPlus and many more.

Firefox has tabbed browsing, bookmarks, a built in session manager, private browsing, personas, themes, add-ons and more. Firefox does not use ActiveX which helps make it a more secure browser. Firefox does make use of many plugins to enhance your web experience. From Shockwave, Flash, Quicktime and more; your browsing experience reaches new levels with the Firefox browser.

Really still a release candidate.

No, its final release that's out.

Not when I posted, it wasn't. That build was the one that was released, though, shortly thereafter.

Well, if you haven't already updated then DON'T, because the update has been pulled, due to a problem with disappearing add-ons.

Full details are in the BugZilla (at #680802), but briefly, you'll probably notice (or maybe you didn't) that NoScript and/or Adblock Plus disappeared when you updated (plus anything else that was in "staging" at the time).

Meanwhile, Mozilla are working on releasing Firefox 7.0.1.

It's been reported on the Mozilla Add-ons blog, as follows:

We’ve identified an issue in which some users may have one or more of their add-ons hidden after upgrading to the latest Firefox version, affecting both desktop and mobile. These add-ons and their data are still intact and haven’t actually been removed. We paused new updates to Firefox to minimize the potential impact on users and will soon release an update to fix this issue and ensure all your add-ons are visible and usable. In the meantime, if you notice an add-on missing entirely from the Add-ons Manager, you can use a simple workaround to recover them.

The simple workaround, for those already affected, is to install a special Add-on that recovers the others. See Add-ons hidden after updating to Firefox 7 and download and install and run the Add-on Recovery Tool as explained in the article.
