Monkey Proof
While browsing through regedit I noticed a bunch of stuff that I previously had uninstalled. My question is it safe to delete what’s left provided I make a restore point in case anything goes wrong? I found a few things that I don’t like in my registry. Like under yahoo messenger, I found 3 user names that I never saved to my buddy list. Also found myfunweb under yahoo. Also in yahoo search there were some search items that have not been deleted by ccleaner. Can I go and delete those also? Obviously I have no experience working with the registry files and I know playing with the registry files can be fatal to the os. So any help will be appreciated
Administrator Tarun Posted December 19, 2005 Administrator Share Posted December 19, 2005 Run CCleaner's Issues cleaner, and also look for RegCompact.NET; it'll help a lot. Playing with the registry can be a very dangerous thing, unfortunately.

Ultimate Predator
Also use Registry First Aid - http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/reg1aid/ - just don't click on anything, just delete what it has ticked by default. and yes, use CCleaner - and RegCompact after you have used CCleaner and Registry First Aid.
