FastEddie57 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I keep getting messages about upgrading to Windows 10 for free. Is this really free and legit? It says it's from Microsoft. Message says I have until July 29, 2016. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks Eddie Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted July 25, 2016 Administrator Posted July 25, 2016 Hi Eddie. Yes, the offer is 100% legit. If you do want to do the upgrade, you may wish to make backups of your valuable data. For me, the upgrade process was very smooth. I did however write down my key (Edit: Turns out you don't even need your key once you upgrade. Just format and skip both key prompts), format and reinstall right after I did the upgrade. It should look something like this: Quote
FastEddie57 Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 Quote Windows 10 I've yet to use Windows 10. How has it worked for you? Are there a lot of bugs for MSFT to work out or does it run smoothly? I have MSFT Office 2007. Will W10 work with Office 2007? Thanks for the reply. Eddie Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted July 26, 2016 Administrator Posted July 26, 2016 I've been using Windows 10 since the 27th of June with no real issues. There's also an Anniversary update coming August 2. Quote
FastEddie57 Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Hi Tarun, I tried to install windows 10, but it doesn't seem to want to download. It says it's downloading but it never does. Download percent completion is always at 0 percent. Any idea what I can do? Thanks. Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted July 28, 2016 Administrator Posted July 28, 2016 Have you tried to let Windows Update do it? Alternatively you can make a bootable DVD/USB. You'll need the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to create a bootable USB or get an ISO to burn to a DVD. Quote
