Hi guys,

Recently my avast! active scanner icon has disappeared! i don't know why or how?

If you can help it will be appreciated.

browse to avast! directory and launch ashDisp.exe... see if it works

Right click your taskbar -> Properties

Customize -> Find avast icon and set to "Always Show"

There have been a lot of people lately saying that their icon(s) have disappeared from the system tray. Usually due to CCleaner's poor methods of cleaning the Tray Notification area.

If you can still get into Avast, you can go into the Settings -> Appearance -> Apply a check to Show avast! tray icon and Animate the icon when scanning.

If this does not resolve your issue, you can try to do a repair/reinstall of Avast and recover the icon.

did you try my method?

ashDisp.exe is located in C:\program files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashDisp.exe

I couldn't find that:

C:\program files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashDisp.exe

So i reinstalled it like Tarun mentioned.

Im having the same problem...

It doesnt start after reboot. I have to start it myself.

Edit: Okay fixed it. I d/l a startup program. And I added in ashDisp.exe for it. Works like a charm now :D
