Ultimate Predator
Yep, neither play correctly, mostly the sound is way out of sync with the picture, or sometimes there is no picture, or sometimes very jerky (both sound and picture). A Any help to fix this annoying problem (after all the stress to get HD Files to Download), would be very much appreciated.
Administrator Tarun Posted October 19, 2006 Administrator Share Posted October 19, 2006 Have you tried doing a clean install of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack?

Administrator Tarun Posted October 19, 2006 Administrator Share Posted October 19, 2006 Have you tried other files, or even tried those same files on another computer?
Mangix
what are there HD files? are they H.264? anyways, i would just use ffdshow since that's the only thing that ever works for me. it even has a tiny filesize.
Ultimate Predator
I've tried other files, they all work correctly, only HD files that don't work properly. How do I find out what type it is?
Administrator Tarun Posted October 20, 2006 Administrator Share Posted October 20, 2006 If this same issues occurs on another computer, it may very well be either a software bug or an issue with the hd files that were downloaded.

Ultimate Predator
So far, its just been this; http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/hd/ (1080p) EDIT: s***! Figured it out; http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/recommendations.html - 1080 is way to high, changed, it works now. :D
Mangix
the HD which you are refering to is called H.264. remember that for future reference also, are you using the QuickTime Alternative? i recommend that you get it if you're not using it because QuickTime sucks too much. Administrator Tarun Posted October 20, 2006 Administrator Share Posted October 20, 2006 Quicktime Alternative is bundled into the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. :D
Mangix
not surprising since the same people make those things. but i would prefer the quicktime alternative alone since i consider codec packs to be a little useless.
Ultimate Predator
Well, I have to use Quicktime Alternative, as well as Real Alternative, and the rest it bundles with is usefull codecs for DivX ect... How is that useless?
Mangix
srry for the long reply. didn't take a look at this topic :( anyways, i consider them useless because they all take too much space. when i used to use the K-Lite mega codec pack, it installed 117MB worth of codecs which was just too much. so after that, i started using ffdshow with Media Player Classic which uses less than 10MB. the best part about it is that they can play all the famous formats(including your HD movs[although renaming them to .mp4 is a better idea]). so right now, i'm not even planing to use any codec packs. btw, if you're interested in ffdshow, take a look here. might as well use that one since Milan(developer of ffdshow) has stopped updating it for some reason. that version supports a couple of new formats including WavPack . Ultimate Predator
Hmmm. I don't know, K Lite Mega Codec Pack has been working fine for me, it also includes loads of plug-ins for FF and everything, to be honest I'm gonna leave it, Disk Space isn't too much of a problem for me.
