I am trying out Avanquest a multi level anti virus/anti-spyware program -it been crashing and anybody else tried it or know of its make up?

I've honestly never heard of it before. I tend to rely on those that are well known, like what you can find on av-comparatives.

I assume this is Avanquest SystemSuite Professional 9, which has had quite poor reviews.

An American review, at Computer Shopper, thought the inclusion of Sunbelt's Virus Intrusion Prevention and Recognition Engine (VIPRE) was a big improvement on the previous version, but a review by the respected UK magazine PC Pro thought the malware detection rate is poor compared to Avira and overall the product is not something worth buying.

But as a whole SystemSuite 9 does little that Windows doesn't already do itself. Coating existing functions in a new front-end and coupling them with second-rate security does not result in a suite we'd pay money for.
