Recently many forums have been hit with a spambot that would send personal messages to every member on the forum. A patch has been released that has addressed this issue and it has been applied.

I would suggest everyone with <10 posts, not being able to create posts containing URLs.

Everyone with <60 posts, would have the rel="nofollow" attribute appended to their links.

I have noticed that the forums that I visit now have a no policy that reduces new member's ability to use PM, post live links and to modify their profile contents until they have about 20 posts.

I think that is great.

They should also append rel="nofollow" to the links posted by new members with less than 20 posts.
