Synapse
use the Gspot codec tool to identify the codecs, Start -> all programs -> K-lite codec pack -> Tools -> Gspot Codec Information. post the names of the codec here. and from what i've heard, VLC has been able to run pretty much every filetype out there, so that should be able to play them. 1984
Ok, i did that, but the G-spot is not under the klite banner, its under its own slot on the start program lists. when i click it, a window pops up, but all of the fields are blank.

Synapse
hmmm, if you try to play the movie in gspot does it play, or do you have a link to an example of a movie on the internet that has this same problem.. to play the movie in gspot to check, press the number "2" in the lower right corner. also, press the number "1" right above the number "2" and post what that says here. 1984
it says "codec misconfigured". i must have screwed something up somehow. now, (no pun intended), what exactly is G-spot? (i can hear the laughter).
Administrator Tarun Posted December 6, 2005 Administrator Share Posted December 6, 2005 what exactly is G-spot? (i can hear the laughter). Something every man wants to know, and would love to know if this mythical place truly exists. GSpot is a video codec identification utility - identifies which video codec and audio compression method is used on .avi files, whether the matching codec is installed, and more. 1984
thanks Tarun. I may uninstall all codecs as suggested, and go to that free codec site and re download them. i think i got the site here

I have never had a problem with this program and its pretty much played any video files Ihave thrown at it. Give it a shot! Your friend, Ryan
