This topic I know has been discussed many time but after hours of surfing and trying different things nothing seems to work! Heavy frustration is settling here! Even Dial a fix doesn't work. James_A Posted January 6, 2010 Share Posted January 6, 2010 When those updates attempt to install, they write individual log files in the WINDOWS directory. For example, Security Update for Windows XP (KB950762) will create KB950762.log. Have a look at some of the log files for the updates you have listed. (HINT: pick the smaller logfiles, not the larger ones.) There should be an error message towards the end. (Warning: the error messages are not always clear as to what is / is not happening.) You can also look into the WindowsUpdate.log in the same folder for at least an error code and return code for each failed installation attempt.
