Monkey Proof
Guide: Firefox load tweak This information is available around the net... First you need to download firefox web browser, it's free and better than IE. 1.Open a new browser window. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. To alter an entry, right-click on it, and select toggle. Alter the entries as follows: Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receive

Administrator Tarun Posted January 9, 2006 Administrator Share Posted January 9, 2006 I didn't think it used any more or less bandwidth, but to be safe I asked DjLizard. If you were going to make two connections then you're still making two connections, except that they're at once instead of sequentially. It neither saves nor uses extra bandwidth. corjello
so, what he is saying is that in essence, yes it is using more bandwith because usually you have one connection open to the site, but now you have 7. So you are using more. Read the first part of Dj's answer if you dont understand. "If you were going to make two connections then you're still making two connections, except that they're at once instead of sequentially. It neither saves nor uses extra bandwidth." So, right now, im only making one connection to lunarsoft. But if i tweaked it, then i would be doing however many when i was only trying to make 1. )corjello(
greenknight
There's a bit of misinformation in that, not that it will hurt anything, though. The maximum number of pipelining requests that will be accepted is 8, if you set it to anything higher you still only get 8.
