Administrator Tarun Posted June 27, 2007 Administrator Share Posted June 27, 2007 Hi woodbutcher. You have a lot of programs starting with your computer. Do you really need all of those at startup? A majority of those can be safely removed. Your log is clean, though you may want to get rid of Norton's product. You may also be able to get a refund as well, should you need the support number to call and tell Norton how much their products are worthless; I believe we can find it for you. That is wierd, this is a buisness comp, and was hit with a download trojan. I takes atleast 5 min for it to shut-down on it's own, among other wierd stuff. Any ideas? As for Norton, the subscription will be up in a couple of months anyway. I'm thinking of replacing it with either NOD32 or Kaspersky's anti-virus. Ultimate Predator
If you want a suite, get Outpost Security Suite, its the best. If you want free, get avast and Comodo firewall.
Capman
woodbutcher, you might want to run StartUpLite as well to decrease the amount of programs that are starting up. http://www.malwarebytes.org/startuplite.php Even after running that you might find some still running at startup that can be disabled manually.
