Posted May 12, 200816 yr Hey all, I have both 2003 Pro. Enterprise and 2007 Pro Plus disk sets. They are volume licensed for students and faculty. My question is: Does anyone know how many PC's they are allowed to be installed on? The version of office XP Por that I have I've installed on several PC's, no complaining from either Microsoft or Office. Thanks!
May 12, 200816 yr Administrator I'm not sure what the limit would be for your VLK, or if there is any limit at all. I imagine Microsoft would be able to tell you.
November 25, 201113 yr LibreOffice is free and you can install it on as many computers as you want as many times as you want.
November 25, 201113 yr :deadthread: This topic was asked and answered over three years ago (~3.5 years actually). Since the OP mentions students and Faculty the limit would, in fact, be whatever the FTE is in your Microsoft Campus Agreement. To stop students (and staff!) from walking off with free pirate copies of the Office software, it now has to check in with the KMS (Key Management Service) managed on-campus at regular intervals, otherwise it de-activates. If you want free Office software, legally, then there's always LibreOffice (the successor to OpenOffice) as Eldmannen says. .
