I saw c't Offline Update on this page

https://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/PC_Security

and was just wondering what it is? Is it abit like autopatcher?

It downloads updates from Microsoft Update and converts them to an ISO file you can burn to a CD or DVD. Then you can update multiple computers from that disc.

A little like AutoPatcher, yes, except the c't Offline Update install scripts automatically install only the updates that are missing from each computer. With AutoPatcher you have to manually select the updates to install.

Not quite! Critical updates are selected automatically for you.

I find c't Offline Update far more valuable than AutoPatcher.

Interesting. I was thinking about the good and bad points of each. May I ask why you prefer c't Offline Update?

AutoPatcher would allow people to install hotfixes that did not go with their system. I had previously used it at a tech shop and found it caused some pretty bad issues at times.

c't Offline Update does like Windows Update, finding what you need to have installed and making it easier.
