Posted February 26, 200718 yr I am curious to; * How much memory does Windows Vista use after installation, without any additional third-party software installed? * How much memory does Windows Vista use if you trim it down, and disable unnecessary stuff?
February 26, 200718 yr Administrator I am curious as to why people worry about memory usage when; * Users can have and are not limited to 4GB of RAM or more. * Users can have large hard drives as well, even up to 1TB in size.
February 26, 200718 yr Author Well, that costs. You can have 131072 CPU's, 32768 gb RAM and have computing power of 100+ TFLOPS too. But it just isn't common place.

Not all of us are Bill Gate's love child and can afford the ultimate best..... hmmm, must try for a DNA check, never know my luck.... And, yeah, I'm also interested to know how much memory Vista sucks up. Cheers :cake:
April 12, 200718 yr Technically, Vista should run fine on 512MB of RAM. But it all comes down to driver support and software installed - I've not had good luck with anything less than 1GB of RAM for Vista Home Premium or higher, although Home Basic seems to be just fine on 512MB of RAM.
April 14, 200718 yr i tried running ultimate on 320mb RAM and i think it used 230ish not totally sure of that
