1984 Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Hi all, I guess this is for Tarun and the moderators. I thought a wonderful addition to the site might be some tutorials. Something on formatting, installing windows, installing hardware, whatever. Just a friendly suggestion for a good addition to a GREAT site. :hello: Quote
Capman Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Nice idea, but, when I have to format or reinstall windows I want to get it out of the way as quick as possible, whereas for a good tutorial, detailed notes would have to be made and also a few screenshots would probably help as well. I have had a few ideal oppurtunities lately though, my lunchtime at work is constantly taken up with other peoples computers. Quote
SenutyEnool Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I also think this would be a very good idea. Especially if you couple this with the Malware downloads that Tarun's put up it would really round it off as a must have package. Cheers :hello: Quote
1984 Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 If there are other tutorials out there, they could be compiled, maybe the link added or a reference to give credit to the writer. At least it would bring a lot of information to one place. :hello: Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted December 14, 2005 Administrator Posted December 14, 2005 Hi all, I guess this is for Tarun and the moderators. I thought a wonderful addition to the site might be some tutorials. Something on formatting, installing windows, installing hardware, whatever. Just a friendly suggestion for a good addition to a GREAT site. Just so you know, this is still being worked on. I've got a F.A.Q. module coming pretty soon. Quote
hazelnut Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I look forward to that Tarun. May I ask that they are compiled in such a way that novices are well catered for some suggestions, backing up files, how to use the command function ( with some useful suggestions) how to post a screenshot Quote
Monkey Proof Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 that would be something to look forward to Quote
Administrator Tarun Posted December 30, 2005 Administrator Posted December 30, 2005 FAQ module has been posted. I may not keep it because it feels so broken and hard to use. Give it a shot, let me know what you think. If you can think of any catagories to add, let me know and I'll add them. I can even make it where users can handle these too :cuddle: Quote
Monkey Proof Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 there are so many different topics that you can cover, things can get a little crazy. i think screen shots for specific instructions will be benificial. CaPMans post on how to post screens shots is an excellent example of that. Quote
corjello Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 yes, very good ideas. The most important thing i think we need to look at is a standerd format for all the the tuturialls. Having each one set up the same would make it much easier for people to go from tut. to tut. )corjello( Quote
hazelnut Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 CaPMan's post was very well done. Anyone will be able to post a screenshot now. What made it good is the instuctions were written in plain English, and did not assume the user had any prior knowledge of the subject. Quote
greenknight Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 It looks pretty good, but it needs to be more clear that PC Maintenance is a link. Quote
